Postmodernism

This trend, which challenges rationality, Postmodernism began to spread in the 70s of the 20th century. Postmodernism, like art deco, is the style of the bohemian and creative elite.

The main task in such interiors is to give space to imagination and creatively approach the space. Postmodernism means creative rebellion against everything uninteresting.

The most famous examples:

• AT&T office building, built in New York in 1978;

• Italian Square in New Orleans

• Pennsylvania Street, connecting the Capitol and the White House.

Nothing new is created, the old is processed. Bright colors, contrasting textures are used.

Place is given to objects that contradict their functional purpose: empty frames, curved bookshelves, transparent racks, multi-story coffee tables, open cabinets, sofas without backs, in other words, non-standard shapes, different solutions, unusual and illogical decorations.
